Barbara Parker was born in the back of a Basque sheep herders covered wagon and raised in the very Norwegian town of Poulsbo, Washington. Her interest and talents are as rich and diverse as her background. A singer songwriter and interior designer, Barbara realized her other artistic abilities later in life; her paintings span many genres: abstract, impressionistic, realism, including landscapes, still lifes and animal portraits.
Artist Joan Ferguson, a former jockette and PE teacher who loved archery and tennis, never thought she could paint or even draw a straight line until she was encouraged at age 50 by her artist sister to take up the brush. Within 3 years she joined a Plein Air group, resulting in her work selling well in a top gallery in Annapolis. Her impressive works of flowers, landscapes, water scenes and clouds in watercolor and oil
now show in Annapolis and Chestertown.
Originally from New York, Chestertown artist Holly Geddes studied geology in college, followed by jobs in computer programming, then many years teaching science and history in Montgomery County schools. Her art was her one creative outlet, which she shared as an art teacher through various art groups. After relocating here, she has continued creating, selling and teaching art, while working with various groups as a community activist, including as first president of Main Street organization.
